WHAT IS POSTPARTUM?
Postpartum refers to the period of time after the birth of a baby, which generally includes the first three months of life -- sometimes referred to as the "fourth trimester." This time is considered an extension of life in the womb. Before birth, a baby spends nearly 40 weeks with every need fulfilled and adjusting to life outside the womb is a tremendous transition, just as meeting a newborns needs is a challenging transition for new parents.

WHAT IS A POSTPARTUM DOULA?
A postpartum doula is trained to provide evidence-based information on care specifics, such as infant feeding and sleep, emotional and physical recovery from birth, mother-baby bonding, infant soothing, basic newborn care, and access to resources.

A postpartum doula takes care of you so you can take care of your new baby.
